What's happening?

The Erie Cattaraugus Rail Trail organization needs your help and support for the Erie-Cattaraugus Rail Trail.  We recommend everyone to sign the e-petition to support this trail.  There is some opposition and we must show that they have strong support for this project that will benefit many people who will enjoy the trail including snowmobilers.

Where is the trail?

The Erie Cattaraugus Rail Trail will convert the unused and soon to be vacated 27.6 mile section of the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad line to a multi-use recreational trail. This section, which begins in Orchard Park in Erie County and ends in the village of Ashford in Cattaraugus County, connects five communities, two ski areas and travels through some of the most spectacular countryside in all of Western New York.

As promised, we have begun the cut-over from the old site today, October 1, 2008.  This is a complicated process; you may experience outages and errors as we complete the transition.  We ask your patience and want to assure you that the site will be fully operational shortly.

Features of the New Site

What you are viewing is the "Public" NYSSA site. This is general information about the organization and the sport of snowmobiling in New York. The new site structure enables NYSSA staff and volunteers to quickly and easily update the site as information changes.

As Rome wasn't built in a day, and we are a small team of volunteers (with day jobs), other key features of the site will be rolled out as they are completed in the coming months:

1. 10/01/08  New Public website published. - Complete, 10/01/08
2. 10/15/08  Updated NYSSA Club location and contact information - Delayed
3. 11/01/08  NYSSA "members only" login access features.  - Delayed
4. 11/19/08  NYSSA Committees, listing of committee members and purpose/charge. - Delayed
5. 12/15/08  Member Bulletin Board System active. - Delayed
